Everyone wants to feel useful. As humans we are naturally inclined to succeed. We want praise, glory, and we want to feel valued. Yet in so many instances we fall short from reaching our goals. Have you ever struggled to feel worth something? If so, you are not alone. One way to combat feelings of inadequacy is to get outside, and be in the outdoors! The outdoors allows feeling of peace, and joy to push out unhappy and stressful feelings. Here are 3 ways to get yourself outside.
Plan something!
In any situation, the best way to accomplish a grand task is to take a first step. Most of the time that first step is planning. Plan to take a hike. Plan a road trip to a mountain lake. O even plan to take 30 minuets a day to sit in your backyard and soak up the sun! When you plan to spend time outside, 90% of the time you will find yourself following through with your plans. And guess what! When you actually do carry out your plans, you feel so good accomplishing them! Not only do you have the opportunity to feel the positive feeling of the outdoors, you get to feel like you are doing something useful with your life!

2. Find a buddy!
Having a buddy is absolutely one of the best things you can do to habitually find yourself enjoying the outdoors. As human beings, we are already naturally inclined to find companionship. We date others, hang out with friends, and love our families. Having a buddy to go on outdoor adventures with you not only will motivate you to spend more time outside, it will make your outdoor experience so much better! A buddy could simply be a friend, your spouse, or even one of your kids! The important thing is that you have someone to share your experiences with.

3. Make it a priority.
Being outside is a vital and important aspect of being human. We are naturally driven to soak up the sun, and explore the untamed wilderness! However it is easy to find life busy, and to create an indoor cage that traps us from reaching happiness found in the outdoors. By understanding how a few simple moments outside can help us feel better, you understand the importance of making the outdoors a priority. Take time to get yourself away from the busy office, or crazy home, and get outside! You don't have to do much, take a little walk, or do your homework in a park..... there a hundreds of ways you can prioritize your time to be outside!

So do it! Get in the outdoors! And feel good about yourself, and about life! Let us know if these steps helped at all. We would love some feedback!
