Southern Utah, Experts Favorite Place

jobonekanobee

Living in Southern Utah is a treat, however most of the time it can be easy to take the beautiful scenery, pleasant weather, and fantastic excursions for granted. The amazing thing is, those that have traveled the world, and seen some of the most beautiful places on earth feel that Southern Utah is the best place to be.

Southern Utah is a Worldwide Destination!

Here are a few local favorites that known explorer and outdoor enthusiast Maggie Slepian absolutely loves.

  1. The Narrows: Zion National Park

The Narrows is one of the most sought after destinations throughout the world. Individuals from all corners of the earth can be found hiking the narrows every day. And they have good reason to as well. Sheer walls scale for hundreds of feet on both sides of the trail for miles on end. Hikers also find wading through the running water as part of the trail thrilling, and very unique. Its safe to say the the narrows in Zion is one of the best hikes North America has to offer. See Slepians own website for more details. (Link through picture)

2. Fairyland Loop Trail: Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon is a hidden gem in my personal opinion. The colorful orange, red, and whit rock formations can't be found anywhere else on earth. On top of that, the formations scale in hundred foot pillars throughout the park. Fairyland loop trail does a fantastic job at letting the hiker see a large glimpse of what the rest of the park has to offer.

3. Navajo Knobs Trail: Capitol Reef National Park

Capitol reef is also a looked over national park as most visitors drive through to see the spectacular views. A lot of the iconic landmarks can be seen from the highway, however the best views of huge sandstone arches, raising cliffs, and rivers cutting through rock can only be seen from the provided trailheads. For this hike, Slepians recommends bringing a lot of water, as the trail can be strenuous at times, and exposes the hiker to the natural elements of the park weather.

So go out and have fun! And as said before, don't take for granted the beauty provided all around southern Utah!
